Does stress make you look and feel old?

Are you overwhelmed by stress? Does corporate management keep increasing the amount it needs to sell each year? Not enough money at the end of the month? Are you worried about your children’s college tuition? Has your belt been tightened more or has your waist expanded? Do you look in the mirror and wonder when did you start looking old and tired?

Stress is part of life. It can help you reach your goals or make you sick when it overwhelms you. The researchers found that it all depends on how satisfied you are. You may be in stressful situations, but when you get a lot of satisfaction from them, you don’t age as fast. It’s when you’re in stressful situations and you’re not satisfied, then you start to look and feel old. Here is an example.

Fred, 46, decided to quit his “government job to work with a group of missionaries helping to feed hungry children in Africa. He said the transition was going to be very stressful, but save for a heart attack or a serious illness, “he said. it would be “stress well spent”. ยน Six months later he was back in North America and the test was younger than before he left. Why? He was doing something he loved and using stress well.

Not everyone can leave their home, their children, and their responsibilities to help starving children in Africa. The question is, “What two little steps can you take starting today that will help you manage your stress energy?”

Here are some tips:

1. Recognize some of the signs and symptoms of stress.

  • Are you always tired?

  • Do you sleep badly at night?

  • You have difficulty concentrating

  • Do you have bad habits with personal care?

  • Others?

2. Ask yourself: “What will motivate me to make a change in my current situation? Tip: Pain and discomfort are a great motivator. Keep in mind that changing habits is not easy. However, it is not impossible. Start with the next step”. .

3. Begin by drawing a self-portrait of what a healthy person looks like. This is different for each person. You are not looking for perfection. You are drawing that you are very satisfied with your life.

4. Meditate and visualize your healthy self-portrait every day.

5. Affirm positive statements throughout the day. For example: if you are trying to lose weight; say, “I am slim and sexy.”

6. Keep a journal of your progress. Enlist the support of two or more like-minded people to help you stay motivated and accountable.

7. Savor your successes. Share them and celebrate them.

The goal is to live a life filled with so many satisfiers that you get a high rate of return by managing stress!
