The mutation is essentially a certificate from the income registry for the transfer of ownership from the seller to the buyer. - KMC has a particular form generally known as form A-42 for mutation purposes only. This mutation request form can be found in the Central Registry Section of the CMO house. Form A-42 can also be obtained from the Gariahut and Behala Kolkata Municipality Corporation offices.
- For the mutation, the Department of Laws, Revenue and Collections issues a Certificate of No Objection, commonly known as NOC, to the mutation applicant. This document must be attached to the mutation request, which is written on a clean, blank sheet of paper. The number of Premises and Assessed must be mentioned in the document.
- If the property is an inheritance, then the original death certificate of the actual owner and an affidavit stating the existence of the heir and proof of the existence of no other heir must be placed for mutation.
