Find jobs on company websites

Most businesses of any size now have websites that offer free online job listings. In
In fact, many companies now use their website as their primary recruiting method.

As a result, the Internet has turned traditional job search methods upside down.
Five years ago, company websites would have been number four or five in order of
importance. Today, it is my number one recommendation, as a hiring manager, to find
job openings at the middle management level and below.

Why? Easy. For the company, it is a quick and, more importantly, inexpensive way to
recruit.

The company’s website is already up and running, so posting jobs is practically free.
except for the time to enter the data. Post ads in newspapers, post openings in the
online job sites, using recruiters, all of this costs money. But the company website is
it is already there, waiting to be used.

For large companies, the Internet has become the main method for customers, and
job seekers – to find information about that company. Extending that information to
Listing job offers is a win-win situation. The company has a virtually free way of
recruit employees, and job seekers have a quick and easy way to find jobs online for free
openings

Case in point: I recently had two openings for a PC technician in the group I manage. I
told Human Resources to post the job on the company website before paying for the advertising
elsewhere. In two weeks, we received almost 100 applications and were able to fill both
positions – without advertising elsewhere and without incurring additional costs.

Get the image? In this case, the company website was not only the best way to find
these openings, it was the only way.

This is the approach many hiring managers take today for grassroots positions: post it.
first on the company website and then advertise in the newspaper or list in the online job
sites if not enough qualified candidates come forward.

BEST WAYS TO FIND BUSINESS WEBSITES

Here are my three favorite methods.

Google

If you know the name of the company, simply search for that name on Google. If that
company has a website, it will be in the first links displayed.

The problem with this method is that you have to know the names of the companies that
I want to search You can also search for the term “list of companies XXXX in YYYY”,
where XXXX is the type of business and YYYY is the state or city you want. You’ll get
many list links this way, which means you’ll need to rank them.

United States CareerInfoNet Employer Finder

This is a great free resource for finding companies and therefore free jobs online. You
you can search by industry, occupation, location, or keyword. You can find it at:

You can further narrow your search by company size (measured by number of employees).
It will give you a list of virtually all companies that meet your selection criteria, so you can
you must be careful not to define your search too broad or it will return thousands of
companies.

When you click the link for a company name, it returns an overview page
telling you the company name, key contact, address, phone number, company
description, major industry, company size, and web address, with link, if any
It is one. It even has a link you can click for driving instructions.

Fantastic!

You can spend hours on this site just browsing through the thousands of companies on the
location you select. The only problem with this site is that it returns too many companies.
– even small ones with just a few employees – if you don’t use a fairly limited job search.
Also, you need to click on each company’s link to see if they have a website.

Dun and Bradstreet Million Dollar Database

This is probably the best referral source for finding quality employers.

You can search by company name, industry, location, location status (either
location is a branch or headquarters), sales in dollars, and the total number of
employees. Once you get the results, you can sort them by any of these criteria.

Unfortunately, this is not a free service. You have to register with Dun and Bradstreet and
pay for access, and it’s expensive. However, most public libraries subscribe to this
database and many of them will allow you to access it online from home, so it can also be a
source of free jobs online. It is the best source for finding quality companies to search for.
job offers.

Regardless of the source you use to find company websites, I recommend that you make a list of
the companies you find most promising. In fact, set your career page as a
bookmark (or favourite) in your browser. Look at least weekly for job offers posted on
their websites.

TIP: You can usually find a link on the home page that says “jobs”, “work
opportunities”, “careers” or something similar. But sometimes it’s not so obvious, so if
don’t see a job link, click the “About Us” link. sometimes the work
