When Justin Timberlake ripped away part of Janet Jackson’s top and exposed her breast during their 2004 Super Bowl halftime show, it caused a massive outcry. The moment he finished singing “Rock Your Body,” Timberlake tore off the bottom of Jackson’s bustier, baring her right breast in what was one of the most infamous wardrobe malfunctions in history.

Instead, Lukas believes that it was an intentional move to expose Jackson’s nipple while performing. He says that the singer’s team was practicing the costume reveal ahead of time, and Timberlake was only supposed to tear away part of her leather outfit.
In the end, Jackson’s career took a hit after the incident, and she hasn’t recovered. Her subsequent albums, All For You and Damita Jo, have sold fewer records than her prior releases. She has also never been able to recover from the backlash she received after the incident.

Lil Nas X, who was on Saturday Night Live last weekend performing his controversial hit single “Montero,” ripped open his trousers as he danced on a pole during his performance. His ripped pants caused him to pivot away from the choreography, and he quickly covered up his crotch with his hand. He kept performing with the rip covered up for the rest of the song, which was his second performance on Saturday Night Live.
After the performance, Lil Nas X went on to appear on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
