A Review of Sorelle Convertible Cribs

Sorelle is not your run-of-the-mill manufacturer. The company has been making beautiful cribs for over 30 years and remains a family business to this day. What best sums up the qualities of a Sorelle crib are the beautiful designs, excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and materials that will literally last a lifetime.

If you want real quality and something that will stand the test of time, then you should seriously consider Sorelle. There are very few other manufacturers that can match their cribs in terms of build quality and sleek design; Pali, Munire and Basset cribs are just a handful that can offer cribs that are this good.

An increasingly popular crib option is the convertible model. Its versatility and long-term cost savings are really appealing, and many parents love the overall stylish look of this type of crib. Sorelle convertible cribs come in 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 versions, with the latter being the most popular, as this type can be converted from a crib to a toddler bed, from a daybed to a full-size bed; it’s designed to last your child a lifetime, and Sorelle’s are built with the finest materials and workmanship so they can be passed down to the next generation.

One of my personal favorites is the Sorelle Cottage 4-in-1. Its overall look and understated style mean it could fit just as well in a modern day nursery or one that harks back to earlier times. Shafts are smooth and square-edged. Likewise, the footboard is straight and the headboard is made with a simple boiserie. The crossbar rail is curved, which softens its overall appearance. The finish is white or French white.

The Hamptons is another understated and elegant convertible crib from Sorelle. It is reminiscent of the American colonial style: simple, straight spindles, with straight head and foot rails. Although it is available in Autumn and Candle Light finishes, in my opinion this crib looks best in a Cherry finish.

The Mara 3-in-1 is a very beautiful sleigh crib and comes with a storage drawer underneath, though perhaps its most distinctive feature is that it’s on casters, making it easy to move around. I often wonder why most convertible cribs don’t. I come with beavers; these are heavy pieces of furniture and moving them is not always easy.

If you’re looking for something more ornate, then the Regal might be the perfect choice. Despite having straight head and foot rails, the fluted legs give this piece a grand appearance (by the way, the Munire Newport Crib has very similar details; you should definitely compare the two). Also, unlike previous models discussed so far, the Regal Crib comes with mini rails, however adult rails are still an optional extra. As you’d expect with this ‘grander style’, finishes are in rich dark woods; Autumn, Cherry and Espresso.

But, for those who want all the romance, Sorelle Anne’s Lace is a must. Ornate details include embossed leaf designs on top of legs and headboard. Running along the foot and side bottom rail is a very nice bootie and loop design. The crib comes in only one finish – French White and it looks divine.

Sorelle convertible cribs are beautiful baby furniture that few other manufacturers can match. It’s true that Bassett and Munire cribs offer convertible cribs that are just as beautiful and well-made, but for comparable pieces, Sorelle is cheaper and just as well-made, in my opinion.
