Government Auctions – A Great Source for Cheap Used Cars in Your State

The United States Government maintains huge fleets of vehicles in every state so that every agency has vehicles available for use. These vehicles are used for the transportation of government property and government employees. Due to the need for reliable vehicles that don’t break down, the government buys them new and has strict rules about how long they can be used before they are retired from service. When a vehicle is withdrawn from service, it is replaced with a newer model and is required by law to be disposed of by public auction.

Auctions are held in every state, so the government does not have to transport the vehicles to a location to sell them, and are held several times a year due to the number of vehicles being recalled. When you go to a government auction, vehicles for sale will be available for inspection. If you are not knowledgeable about cars, you should bring someone who is, to check for major issues that could cause the car to be unsafe or unreliable. The government does not issue any guarantees.

When the bidding starts, it starts at a very low price. The car sells for the highest bid price, no matter how low it is in value. Most cars sold at government auctions sell for a couple thousand less than they’re worth, and some sell for much less than that.
