When comparing different types of accommodation in Islamorada, there are a few things to keep in mind. The main reason people stay in Islamorada is because they have a fishing boat. Since the best time to go fishing is early in the morning or after sunset, you’ll probably want to find a place to stay fairly close to the marina.
However, Islamorada is also a prime location for diving in the Florida Keys. If getting to the reef is important to you, there are some resorts that offer diving and snorkeling tours. Also, this area does not have many public beaches, so if you want to “go to the beach” on your vacation, try to find a resort that has its own.
Are the beds taxed?
Well, not really, but the Keys require a resort (bed) tax of 11.5% per night. If you are trying to stick to a budget, keep that in mind. So $ 100 per night suddenly becomes $ 117.50 (including Florida state tax).
Prices tend to be relatively high and good deals are not as common (although for the tireless traveler, they do exist). In any case, you need to find the resort that best suits your needs.
Accommodation in Islamorada
When it comes to hotels in Islamorada, Florida, your options include chain hotels, family-friendly motels, and a full resort or two. There just aren’t always enough rooms for everyone when it’s the best diving and fishing season.
Your best bet? You guessed it: “it depends.” What is your budget and what do you want to do?
If you want the bells and whistles of a resort, you might want to check out Pelican Cove. You can rent a boat or jet ski, dock your own boat, take a tour, or just take a nap by the pool.
Do we have a tight budget? You can visit the Day’s Inn. There may not be many luxuries, but it’s a place to stay that won’t break the bank.
There are also high-end hotels in Islamorada, Florida. The Moorings is quite exclusive and is considered one of Islamorada’s best kept secrets.
