How to meet and talk to eligible men

“Always ask the questions you want, life is too short to know if you’ll get a second chance to ask, and the afterlife is probably too long to wonder what the answer might be.” –Kaitlin Hollon

One of the biggest challenges many single women face is how to start a conversation with someone new. Maybe it’s been a while since you’ve met someone new, so let’s start there.

Set a goal to meet at least 5 new people every week. Because? Well, because if you’re stuck in a rut, you may never get the chance to meet your perfect man. Often, you need to go to new places and try new things to meet someone who really interests you. You never know where he is or where you might meet him.

So how do you do this? First, think about the three men you most admire and ask yourself why you admire them so much. Then try to imagine if these men were single, where would they go and what would they do? How could you also be in the places that your Mr. Right would naturally be?

For example, if your Mr. Right is a successful business person, he may be interested in financial or business seminars. Can you expect something like this? Perhaps your Mr. Right is someone who likes to travel or drives a nice car. You could go to a travel expo or a car show. If your Mr. Perfect is physically fit, he might be spending time at the gym working out. Could you be at the gym before or after business hours? Even meeting other women is beneficial because they may meet an eligible single man to introduce you to.

If you think about where your ideal man might be, you can increase your chances of meeting him. If you’re not ready to be so proactive, you may be able to meet someone new by posting an authentic and intriguing profile on an online dating website. This will give you the opportunity to meet men that you would never meet otherwise. Plus, you can see your options while curled up on the couch in your pajamas.

What is the best way to start a conversation with someone new once you meet them? I think the easiest way is to ask a simple and innocent question. Something like, “Excuse me, do you have time?” or “Excuse me, have you heard the weather forecast for this weekend?” A question like this is safe and often creates an opportunity for further conversation.

You’re not getting closer to someone by asking a question like this, and most people like to feel like they’re helping you. You may make a new friend or even find a deeper connection. Are you willing to try?
