Make time for your part-time online business

Many online marketers or online entrepreneurs started working part time in their new company. They have a full time job to support them financially while they work whenever they can on their online business. They invest anywhere from a couple of hours to ten or fifteen hours a week. With perseverance and discipline, commission checks slowly begin to show higher numbers than full-time paycheck. Making time for your part-time online business and working on it will make this happen.

Start by stating why you are looking to make extra money online. What are the real reasons that pushed you to this? Write them down and post them where you can see them. This step is crucial for your survival. Because when times get tough, when things don’t happen the way they should, when you’re discouraged or lacking in motivation, remember those reasons. They can also be goals, like staying home with my kids or working fewer hours and earning a decent income. Whatever the reasons, they must be powerful and strong enough to get you going!

Make a schedule of your regular activities to find out how many hours of free time you have in any given week. Pick a few hours to work on your business. Also, name the activity you will do. For example: blogging, posting on forums, writing an article, adding content to your website, doing some research, etc.

Don’t overload or burn yourself! You may not be able to maintain your new lifestyle of having a full-time job and working in a business part-time. Give yourself time to get used to this new responsibility.

If you don’t stick to your schedule, your lack of discipline will cost you. You will not get the expected results and you will not achieve your goals. Even if you don’t feel like working on your business, remember your reasons. Look at the paper on which you have stated your motivations. And get to work!

If you want to kick back and get away for the weekend or hang out with friends for a night, you should first assess your progress. One of the many benefits of being your own boss is that you can work when you want and take vacations when you want too! Ask yourself this: are you satisfied with the way your project is going? If yes, then you need to reward yourself and treat yourself to a good time with your loved ones. If not, set your priorities correctly: create your own wealth or have fun? Remember that time does not wait for you, and yet you own your schedule. If you think you need some adjustments, you can review your schedule and make any necessary changes.

If you’re a procrastinator, be a little more strict and hard on yourself. If you want your business to skyrocket, you need to understand that actions bring results. If you do nothing, nothing will change or happen. Spend maybe an hour or two at a time. It doesn’t sound like much, but at least you’ve worked a little. The point is to work the amount of time you feel comfortable with.

If you get distracted while trying to work, take care of it. Keep your mind focused on your business. Lock yourself in the room. Log out of your IM if you are a big talker. Let the people around you know that you need focus for an important project.

Be consistent. Get used to working on the Internet. In the same way that it is a habit for some to check their emails at a certain time every day, in the same way that you should be able to work on an activity when you are supposed to according to your schedule. No more excuses. Just find a time to work on your online business and take action. Make it happen!
