Many options of travel trailers for sale

Becoming an RVer doesn’t mean you have to drive a huge RV. They are obviously an option if you want something big. However, if you’re looking for something a little more manageable, there are many different types of travel trailers for sale to choose from.

Fifth wheel

If you’re looking for the largest living space in a trailed option, the fifth wheel is your best option. This model is constructed so that it has a raised front section. This raised section gives the interior a split level floor plan, giving you more space in the “living” area. The living/dining room easily converts into more sleeping space thanks to a slide-out design.

The fifth wheel connects to the back of your truck, as most campers do. However, this model requires a special hitch in the truck bed to connect. You may need a medium or heavy duty tow vehicle to tow this motorhome as it may be too heavy to tow with a traditional pickup. You cannot tow this unit with an SUV.

The fifth wheel has all the comforts of a traditional motor home. However, they tend to be cheaper to buy.

traditional campers

The traditional model is possibly the most popular on the market due to the variety that you can find. When you look at these travel trailers for sale, you’ll see that they come in sizes from as small as nine feet to as large as 40 feet. They can also be towed by light trucks and SUVs if you get a smaller model.

Models 17 feet or larger are considered self-contained. This means that they come complete with a kitchenette and bathroom. These medium to large sized units also have decent sized storage tanks for fresh and not so fresh water.

There is great diversity in this type of units. You can equip them with bunk beds, sliders, and even multiple doors. They all come equipped with 120v electrical connections and air conditioning.

popup windows

Probably the least expensive of all the travel trailers for sale is the pop-up or pup model. Essentially this is a large tent with a trailer base. When not in use, fold the sides and top down. This allows you to store the unit in a much smaller area. If you own a midsize car, small SUV, or light truck, this model is perfect for your current vehicle.

These collapsible caravans provide cooking facilities, fridge, heating, fresh and waste water tanks, sink and tap, and bedding. They also come equipped with 120v electrical systems. Depending on the model you choose, they can comfortably sleep up to six people. Unlike other units, this style does not have a bathroom on board.

The biggest drawback of this model is that you have to assemble and disassemble it. Of course, most of them now have a lift system that helps speed up this process. However, if it is raining, you still need to stand out in the rain to complete the setup.

Choosing from the many travel trailers for sale can be daunting. When you find the right one, you and your family can enjoy a pleasant camping time.
