To be commonly known as a “miracle enzyme,” serrapeptase must be something pretty powerful, right? Actually, it can do more than most people know. But once the silkworm has transformed into a butterfly, it would be trapped inside its cocoon were it not for Serrapeptase. Delivered through the silkworm’s saliva, the enzyme can break the cocoon so the butterfly can escape. But these powers are not just limited to silken cocoons. Serrapeptase naturally devours all non-living matter. Then, about 25 years ago, a Japanese biochemist discovered ways that this process can benefit our health.
The ways that Serrapeptase works inside our bodies allow it to remove scar tissue and other dead tissue or blockages, decrease inflammation or swelling, and control pain.
