Simple Candida Diet Recipes Without Sugar

I love food, sorry, that should be LOVE food as long as it tastes good!

So when I looked at the list of forbidden foods in my diet for Candida, it kind of scared me. My apprehension did not lessen when I saw examples of Candida diet recipes, as I could see that my time and money were being wasted on fancy ingredients and difficult cooking methods.

(I’m not a very good cook either, so it would be fair to say I was a bit worried about how they would know if I was wrong!)

Suddenly, my usual method of making a great lasagna or preparing a large roast complete with copious amounts of starchy vegetables went out the window.

In fact, I found that looking up Candida diet recipes was really easy, but finding one that was easy enough to grab my attention and relevant to stage one, you know, the stage where almost everything is off-limits , it was really difficult.

The best that most Candida diet recipes could do were elaborate pumpkin soups, leek and broccoli stews, or celery and cottage cheese snacks.

So I took a look at what we were allowed and came up with a really simple eating plan: keep it simple, but vary the flavor with each serving. Once you know your flavors, it’s amazing the variety of flavors you can have and the sugar, what sugar?

Candida Diet Recipes for Breakfast

  • Either scrambled eggs (made with water instead of milk) to vary the flavor, try adding chopped parsley or bell peppers to the mix. Gold,
  • Rolled oatmeal porridge made with water and covered with natural yogurt and cinnamon. If you want to be a bit daring, add some grated apple and/or berries to the mix.

Candida Diet Lunch/Dinner Recipes

These Candida diet recipes are interchangeable; make a big batch of both and store in the fridge. What you don’t have for lunch you have for dinner and visa pays.

salad

One of the easiest and fastest Candida diet recipes.

  • Just rip up a lettuce, slice up an avocado, slice up a couple of bell peppers and a cucumber and toss them all together.
  • Each time you serve them, vary the flavor by adding a different meat to the mix and seasoning accordingly. For example; When I have a chicken salad, I like to top the salad with cottage cheese and drizzle lemon juice on top. For the tuna I usually use only lemon juice and for the lamb I make a yogurt dressing.

stir fry

  • Sauté the broccoli, cauliflower, onion, and celery as usual, add some crushed garlic and ginger, and add one or two types of shredded leafy greens, such as spinach, bok choy, silver beets, or cabbage.
  • As with the salad, change the seasonings depending on the meat you add, or have it meatless, yum!

Candida Diet Recipes for Dessert

Desserts are very difficult during stage one, so if you absolutely must have dessert, but don’t want to go to a lot of effort and expense, you’re really limited to;

Natural unsweetened yogurt with;

  • cinnamon or allspice;
  • berries;
  • uncooked rolled oats or other bland whole grains.

A super simple dessert idea is

  1. Place a handful of rolled oats, a handful of amaranth, a couple pinches of cinnamon, and a couple pinches of allspice in a bag and shake until combined.
  2. Sprinkle this over your yogurt and berries.
  3. For an extra special treat, you can also add a couple of fingers full of dried berries.

Candida Diet Recipes for Snacks

Take a large rice wafer and top with your choice;

  • Cottage cheese and cinnamon or chives
  • you do not have
  • hummus

(If you can find or make bread that meets all the rules for stage one, then these ingredients are absolutely divine on toast, too!)

Other snack ideas;

  • Use hummus, cottage cheese, and yogurt as dips for small rice crackers and raw vegetables.
  • Keep hard-boiled eggs in the fridge and grab one when hunger strikes.
  • A handful of mixed nuts and seeds will do wonders for any nagging hunger pangs or munchies.
