It’s the perfect time to change the atmosphere in your home with an easy and profitable vacation. Unlike typical getaways, this one requires little to no travel. With a little creativity, you and your loved ones will soon have those frowns turned upside down!

We constantly travel here, there, everywhere to visit famous museums, restaurants and cities, neglecting the ones in our own backyards! It’s a no-brainer, but try to check out local offerings near or within your city. Do some research and compile a must-see list, including activities for both the family and adults. Here’s your chance to finally check out that to-die-for steakhouse or let your inner child play at the local rock-climbing wall or pottery class.

Go ‘Natural’

We’re not talking about giving up deodorants and shampoos, but do it means taking time to appreciate the scenery around you. Are there nearby parks that your family can easily get to? The lush landscaping not only offers stunning views, but also guarantees a belly full of laughs as everyone tries to roll down the hill. Or visit a park or farm that offers guided trail rides. If you’re lucky and plan ahead, you might even catch the sunset while riding a horse! For out-of-this-world fun, bring a telescope, blankets, and apple cider in thermoses and go stargazing. Check the weather beforehand to choose the clearest night; prepare to be amazed!

Rent the movies you’ve been wanting to see and create a double feature everyone will enjoy. Rearrange the furniture so that there are two rows of capes or chairs for everyone to sit on.
