vital vagina

as inside so outside

Women are amazing creatures. Complex, beautiful, smooth and compelling. Our sexual organs are sensitive, full of nerve endings. Every vagina is different. What feels good for one person can drive another person so crazy that they kick you in the mouth. (Visions of the 40-year-old virgin are emerging.)

The parts of the vagina

The vagina is made of soft, sensitive tissue that tears easily when dry. The human labia are made up of the same type of skin and tissue as the vagina. The lips are sensitive, tender and tear easily. They swell and swell when they kiss. They turn red when bruised. The tissue that makes up the vagina is very similar.

The vagina is incredibly elastic. I’m sure you don’t want to think about this, but babies go through it. The cervix opens just enough to allow the passage of a head. Not the thoughts you want to have when you think of a vagina, but the truth is that it is an amazingly wonderful part of the body.

Vaginas separate men from boys (I mean women) in many ways. Women can give birth and men cannot. We really do have some pretty special body parts. I have collected a plethora of information about the vagina. Some you may already know, but most will surprise you.

  1. The vagina has more than 8,000 nerve endings. Sorry guys, you only have 4,000. Since you talk about your bits so much, I wanted to make sure you knew how sensitive the vagina is, so to speak.
  2. The average vagina is 3 to 4 inches long. It can expand by 200% when sexually aroused.
  3. The vagina is made up of erectile tissue, much like a man’s penis. It swells up and swells like the penis when aroused.
  4. The vagina is a closed system. The upper end houses the cervix that opens during childbirth. Nothing passes from the vagina to the stomach.
  5. Vaginas secrete squalene, like a shark. Isn’t it scary?
  6. A condom does not protect the vagina or labia from sexually transmitted diseases. If the lips touch the scrotum we get warts and herpes.
  7. The labia minora or labia are on average 3/4″ long. Yes, 2981 women were measured for this statistic. Some are in, some are hanging, some are uneven. All are perfect just the way they are.
  8. Pubic hair was meant to protect the delicate vagina. Traps the scent of the vagina to attract a mate. It’s there for a reason ladies, don’t shave it off!
  9. 30% of women can have an orgasm with intercourse alone. Most need clitoral stimulation to reach orgasm.
  10. The clitoris is loaded with nerve endings. There are twice as many nerve endings in the clitoris as in the penis. It can range in size from the size of a pea to seven inches in length. It swells up when it’s around and gets bigger, like a penis.
  11. When a woman has a G-spot orgasm, she expels fluid and ejaculates. This is not urine. The fluid is produced by Skenes’ glands and is much like a man’s seminal fluid, minus the sperm. Guys, you don’t pee when you cum, we don’t pee when we cum either. Don’t embarrass your wife if she has one of these amazing orgasms. It may be the last time she does it.
  12. A woman is capable of having 11 different types of orgasms. Clitoral, vaginal, G-spot, squirting orgasm, A-spot upper vaginal wall (anterior fornex), deep spot near the cervix (very deep into the vagina can feel like anal sex), breast orgasm, skin orgasm, and orgasm mental, full body orgasm. Yes, we are special! I may have missed one.
  13. Anything a woman eats flavors the taste of her vaginal discharge. Garlic, soybeans and onion can be especially tasted in vaginal secretions.
  14. Contrary to popular opinion, the vaginal is like a self-cleaning oven. You don’t need to shower.
  15. Eating too much sugar can cause yeast infections that can be remedied with probiotics and acidophilus.
  16. One in 5,000 women is born without a vagina. I met a woman in Toronto, she was born with MRK and had a surgically created vagina. She had to keep it stretched out or it would shrink and be unusable. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/14/jacqui-beck-no-vagina-mrkh_n_4274401.html

Why vaginas are important

100 men were interviewed at Connecticut College. Here’s what they had to say about why vaginas matter. This link is from Hello Beautiful.com Raising awareness about domestic violence.
