It often seems that certain public leaders/elected officials find or believe it is in their best interest to avoid, take on any issues, etc., that might be controversial or at risk of losing. the votes and/or support of certain core supporters! Isn’t it bad, for this nation, when/if, those we elect, supposedly, to serve and represent us, our relevant, sustainable, needs and best interests of our nation, refuse to do so, but put their personal agenda/ policy, and/or self-interest, ahead of necessary priorities, into the future, in a relevant, sustainable and well-considered manner? With that in mind, this article will attempt, briefly, to consider, examine, review, and discuss, 6 specific areas, where we must demand, no compromise, evasion, denial, or attempted populist politics!
1. true justice: We must insist on true justice for all! Unfortunately, we often witness a system where certain individuals are treated differently than others. When everything from police treatment, legal representation, the often apparent attitude of law enforcement and judicial agencies, etc., contributes to systemic racism, how can we continue to believe that we are the home of the free, when rights, freedoms and privileges are often applied selectively, favoring those with more access to financial advantages, etc.?
two. Climate change: Since simply denying it, or postponing it, does not generate potential ramifications of Climate Change, let alone harmful, etc., we must insist our public leaders create strategic and action plans that can minimize some of these effects! Almost all scientists and experts realize that this is a pressing need during the four years of the previous US presidential administration. personal/political agenda, and/or self-interest! For the good of the planet and a sustainable future, we must proceed, urgently, in this area!
3. Ambient: If we want to secure a planet, where citizens can possibly enjoy clean air and water, etc., we must therefore protect the environment! Once again, from 2017 to 2020, our nation’s leadership invested decades of national emphasis in trying to protect you, for the health and well-being of all of us!
Four. Rights/freedoms: We cannot afford the selective application of all our constitutional rights and freedoms/guarantees, but we must protect them all! If we don’t, sooner rather than later, the United States will lose its identity and how we are viewed by the rest of the world!
5. Public health and safety: A key priority of our officials must be to be prepared, and effectively protect and strengthen our measures, towards public health and safety!
6. Health and medical care should be a right, not a privilege!: Shouldn’t it be a right, rather than a privilege, to provide quality health care for the wealthiest and most entitled? Why are we the only major nation in the world with this difference in level of care, based on affordability, wealth, and ability to pay?
We cannot afford to compromise and/or procrastinate to address these 6 key areas of concern! Will you demand better and more?
