We’ve all been through this before … decided to buy an RV, but are overwhelmed by the myriad of styles, let alone makes and models. There are too many “yes, and goals” to make a clear decision so early on your learning curve. So how do you choose the best one?
In my opinion, the fifth wheel (or fifth wheel) offers many advantages that the other styles do not. In fact, I think there are 4.5 compelling reasons to consider a fifth wheel over the main competitors; Class AB and C, travel trailers, caravans, camper vans, sliders, SURV or buses.
Without further ado, here are the 4.5 Reasons to buy a fifth wheel like your RV:
1. You don’t have a cabin ruining your space.
You’re only using the cab while driving, which is rare on most RVers’ vacations. So why have your entire RV built around your cabin? Why not make better use of that space and put a sofa or desk in its place? On a fifth wheel, you can!
2. More design options:
Since you don’t have the entire engine, transmissions, and more, you can design your space to work best for you. There are so many ways a fifth wheel can be configured that you can find a style that suits you better than a classic RV.
3. No need to tow another vehicle:
You already have a separate vehicle with you all the time. All you have to do is unhitch your fifth wheel and you’ll be out of the store, a restaurant, or a night on the town. Never worry about your dolly, a car in tow, or pulling a second vehicle like you would a motorhome.
4. Provides better value:
You already own a truck, so why buy a new engine, transmission, and all? Using your truck to pull means there is one less vehicle to worry about in your life. Less worry means more time to sit back and enjoy your new fifth wheel.
4.5 Easier to inspect and buy:
You don’t need as much information when looking to buy a used one. Actually, as long as you use your noggin and a good Used RV Buying Guide, you shouldn’t have a problem getting a good deal on one of these. But make sure you get a good buying guide or you can get yourself a lemon!
