Avocado and its benefits for skin health

If you want to give your skin the best natural treatment, to ensure greater youth and shine, then nothing is better than avocados. Natural avocado oil comes with antioxidants, lecithin, and emulsifiers, which help maintain a youthful appearance of the skin. Along with the myriad health benefits of avocado, it is also called the ‘sunshine vitamin’ due to its vitamin D content. The antioxidants contained in these effectively protect the skin from harmful UV rays. You can use this fruit by providing your skin with some natural treatment options.

The various benefits of avocados for the skin are as follows:

# 1 – Treats and Prevents Acne: It is a natural heartache for any girl or woman to have a face full of unsightly pimples and acne. The avocado puree application can help you out of this disastrous situation. Avocado oil has linoleic acid, the absence of which in the sebaceous glands present in the skin causes acne. Take some avocado oil and massage your face every day before bathing. This would prevent acne and reduce existing ones as well.

# 2 – Hydrate the skin: Avocado contains healthy fats, which add moisture to the skin. As you know, coconut oil is an effective moisturizer because of its oleic acid content (5-10%). However, the pulp of an avocado is 63% oleic acid, giving your skin the most moisture it needs. If you consume an avocado daily, the sebaceous glands of the skin will secrete a semi-fluid sebum, to keep the skin hydrated and also to add agility to the joints and muscles. You can take the meaty side of the avocado peel, after scooping out the delicious fruit. Then rub the peel into your skin and feel how fresh it feels.

You can also mash the ripe avocado and add a drop of lemon juice, egg white and mix all the ingredients. Then use it as a mask. Once it’s dry, rinse your face with a mild face wash, as you certainly won’t like the smell of eggs on your face.

Alternatively, you can also combine ripe avocado pulp with olive oil (3-4 drops), honey (1 tablespoon), and yogurt (1 tablespoon) to make a wonderful face mask. Besides cleansing, it also adds moisture to the face.

# 3 – Protect From The Sun: You can’t avoid going outside, but the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays damage DNA, which even leads to skin cancer. However, according to medical research, polyhydric fatty alcohols, which is a type of fat found in avocados, can decrease skin inflammation and radiation-induced cell damage. You can apply ripe avocado pulp as a facial pack to enhance your skin’s DNA repair. Avocado protects skin cells from malignancy caused by the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Avocados also contain vitamins E and C, which fight UV rays that alter DNA and stop damage. This is the reason why doctors recommend avocado for the skin.

# 4 – Smoothes Wrinkles: Age naturally causes fine lines and wrinkles to appear on the skin. Sometimes overexposure to the sun can also lead to wrinkles on the face at a younger age. But avocados can help you turn back time, as they come packed with antioxidants like vitamins E and C. These antioxidants help fight free radicals that cause skin damage. Avocado oil also has elastin and collagen that maintain the elasticity and structure of the skin. In addition, the oleic acid present in avocados can reach the second layer of the skin and deeply nourish, preventing wrinkles and fine lines, which are actually caused by dryness. Your skin is given a new life with the blessings of avocados.

# 5 – Eliminate Tan: Avocado is the key to getting rid of tan. Its antioxidant component known as glutathione works to reduce the level of the melanin pigment (the accumulation of which causes darkening of the skin) by inhibiting the enzyme that produces melanin. Adding avocados to your daily salad or applying ripe avocado pulp can help reduce tanning. With daily use, very soon you may notice that the tan completely disappears, making your skin naturally glow once more.
