How To: Multiple Twitter Accounts On Droid

As I’ve become more in tune with Twitter and all the goodness it can bring me, I’ve been more and more interested in having it with me on the go. After using the official Twitter for Droid app without a problem for a while for an account that covers a couple of my sites, I started a second, more personal Twitter account. I’ve tried a few apps and found one that works really, really well for managing multiple Twitter accounts on the Droid.

If you’re looking for a good one, search the Droid Market for an app called Seesmic. This is a free app which in my opinion is very nifty. It not only handles normal Twitter functions like your broadcast, replies, Retweets, and Direct Messages with ease, but it also does a lot more.

The main setup is very easy and only takes a minute. Basically, download the app, install it on your Droid, and sign in with one of your Twitter accounts. Once you have the first one there, it’s a simple matter to add more. From the home screen, press Menu > Accounts > Menu > Add accounts. That’s it.

The accounts are presented in a very simple list style screen that makes it easy to quickly switch between them. The account screen will look quite familiar and sports an intuitive layout with tabs across the top for Timeline, Replies, Messages, and Profile. The Profile tab offers a ton of information and access to your followers, who you follow, retweet, and more. Easy, simple and smooth.

The menu offers a bunch of different ways to customize the screen. You can choose the number of messages on your timelines and also the size of the text. The app will remember where you left off on the timeline if you’re also scrolling. There are the normal options for alerts, ringtones, notifications and more.

For photos and videos, Seesmic is ready for the new Twitter with fast integration with YouTube and image management sites like Twitpic, yFrog and more. URL shortening is also handled internally with the major players in that field.

Seesmic is pretty much an all-in-one Twitter app for your Droid that gives you the ability to manage multiple Twitter accounts and get the most out of the entire experience. I’ve been using it for quite some time and I think it’s one of the best apps I’ve come across so far!
