Pennington is located on the south coast, about 3 km from the mouth of the Mzinto River. It is located about 80 km south of Durban city center. Pennington has a very good tea room as you enter Pennington. Myles and her staff are very friendly and have a wide variety of supplies.

The main shopping center is near the beach. It has a wonderful antique shop, pharmacy, laundry, supermarket, bottle shop, post office, estate agents, hairdresser, gift and lighting shop, nursery and of course a ‘local’ pub.

Dr. Vach is the local GP who, together with his wife and team, runs an efficient and dedicated practice.

Pennington has its own preschool. There are two primary school options, Sezela Primary or Scottburgh Primary and the secondary school is also located in Scottburgh which is around a 15 minute drive away.
