Mindful Movement and Meditation Teacher Certification

Meditation Teacher Certification

The human mind is a complex and powerful tool. It can be a source of inspiration or debilitating stress. Mindful movement, meditation and breathing exercises can help you tame your mind and find greater stability and peace in daily life. Mindful movement is the practice of connecting body, breath and spirit through slow movements that are synchronized with the rhythm of your breath. In addition, a mindful movement practice can be meditative, relaxing or energizing depending on how you choose to integrate it into your life.

When you incorporate mindfulness into a yoga class, you can help students connect to the present moment through physical, emotional and cognitive experience. The goal of a yoga class is to balance the mind and body in order to reduce stress and enhance the well-being of your students. Practicing mindfulness in yoga classes can also help you to become more present during your own practice and teach students how to live a more mindful lifestyle.

During this 200 hour yoga and meditation teacher training, you will learn how to integrate yoga postures, breath work, chanting, mantra and traditional meditation techniques into your class. You will also explore yogic philosophy and ethics, as well as the business of being a yoga teacher (including yoga studio management).

In this training, you will learn how to support students who have experienced trauma through yoga and meditation. You will be introduced to the basics of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/training, (ACT) one of the fastest growing therapies worldwide. Mindful self-compassion is a central component of this training and you will learn how to develop a daily mindfulness and MSC practice for yourself and your students.

MSC is a form of active meditation that helps people to develop skills in being kind to themselves and accepting what is and is not within their control. It is one of the most widely used approaches for reducing stress and anxiety and increasing psychological flexibility. This type of mindfulness is a valuable tool for teachers who want to help their students manage and cope with the stress of daily life, work and home.

Mindful movement is an integral part of building mental fitness and it can be found in many different forms of exercise including Tai Chi, yoga, Pilates, and dance. When you combine these activities, the benefits can be far reaching. This is because you are moving your whole body, which is important for brain health.

During this program, you will be taught how to incorporate the MSC approach into your yoga classes through a combination of verbal instruction, demonstration and hands-on assisting. You will also learn how to design safe, systematic sequencing of poses for a range of abilities and physical limitations. The goal of the MSC training is to enable you to create meaningful mindfulness and meditation classes that will meet your students where they are at. You will also leave with a deeper understanding of your own yoga practice, allowing you to be more present in your daily life and pass on the benefits of these practices to your students.
