The NordicTrack AudioStrider 990 elliptical trainer is one of the best deals at $1,000. However, you have to realize that this qualifies it at the higher end of an inexpensive elliptical. I would recommend the 990 for moderate use. If you need a machine for multiple users, or if you plan on strenuous daily workouts, you may want to consider upgrading to a higher-end elliptical.
The AudioStrider comes with a 1-year parts and labor warranty. Being an elliptical budget, I would still recommend upping the warranty to at least 2 year coverage. The cost is not much more.
However, I can tell from the feedback I get from my readers that few people have had any issues with the 990 out of the box and overall it seems to be holding up well under normal use.
