WoW Hunter Professions: What is the best profession for a Hunter in Wotlk?

Usually, hunters in World of Warcraft have to make a choice between increasing their rank in their chosen professions and buying food for their pet. One way around this particular problem is to take two gathering professions. By doing this, whatever you collect you will sell and you won’t worry about spending it because you won’t be able to, instead you can use the money to buy those items or consumables.

Taking two gathering wow hunter professions will allow you to simply collect whatever you find along the way during your adventures and then sell it on the AH once you have a full stack of them. Many professionals who switched professions in their 70’s not too long ago, and in their 80’s from now on, will prefer to farm AH for cheap material rather than harvest on their own.

Skinning is a great profession, because you will kill a lot of creatures and the leather you get from their hides will be quite valuable in the long run. Sure you won’t get amazing prices at first, but as you level up and your quarry levels up as well, you’ll see the amount of gold you can cash in for piles of leather increase.

Similarly, mining is a great choice of gathering profession and one of my favorites because ores or bars are needed at any point in the game because there are three main professions that need metal: blacksmithing, engineering, and jewelry.
