Writing strategy: on how to get inspired every day

Drawing inspiration from anything within reach is a piece of cake for other writers. The rest suffer from what we call the alibi of not writing a single word. Yes, because we don’t always have the energy to continue with our writing. The solitary path to become “invisible and inaudible” for a week, a month or a year; focusing time and resources to finish a story until readers clamor for more.

So how do we get the inspiration to get going, moving forward until the END part is done?

Well, here are some ways to get inspired even without the energy to do it. As long as you treat yourself seriously in your passion for uniting characters, events, settings, and motivations, you are on the exciting journey of having written your masterpiece and publishing it for the world to participate in, both of which are fun. and wisdom

1. Look around you: see, feel, smell, touch the different stimuli that could be the germ of an idea or a springboard for an unstoppable and amazing reading binge from your fans, the readers who are voraciously devouring every book you read. you are creating.

2. Make you hungry. Yes, for ideas, experiences, wisdom from failures, even plunging into a world different from yours. Don’t be afraid to put yourself in other shoes and understand your own work. In this way, you will learn something new, fresh, and relevant to your writing assignment, maybe not today but tomorrow. Yes, all the surrounding stimuli need our utmost attention.

3. Listen. Spying is not a sin. It’s something a writer like you should do. You can get something from people’s talks, complaints and the like about their jobs, daily routine, etc. Perhaps the story you’ll write needs crisp dialogue, a shocking setting, or even some thought-provoking wisdom from a grumpy old man’s sarcastic retort.

4. Observe. Activating all the senses to get the sensation of being a sponge can be a lot of fun. Soaking up different vibes from people who are struggling, making a living to survive, especially in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, is a great learning experience. Get to know their stories and learn a thing or two, for your future stories to write about, for your readers to share.

5. Build air castles. Never be afraid to let go, mentally be a rebel against social norms, creating a different world for your unique characters to flourish amid established standards of being sane, sane and holy. Yeah, you never know if the world you build might be the next big thing that readers would be wowed by, along with the beautiful main character, like my Wattpad story: Beautiful Chaos and Gorgeous Disaster. Oh, what’s next to promote my baby.

Well, there will be more to come as we continue on the journey towards making writing therapy for a broken soul, but even if the journey gets tough, the tough keep going no matter what. Keep writing, expressing yourself to the world to see the beauty of your mind despite all the odds. Keep fighting for your dreams. Keep writing, so that others forget their burdens, even for an hour or two.
